The Lake Odessa Wave & Times, Thursday, May 6, 1943

E. W. Kussmaul fell Wednesday while doing the chores in the barn at his home 
east of Lake Odessa and was found lying on the ladder apparently falling from 
the ladder.  He was taken to Lansing hospital where he died Wednesday night.

He is survived by one daughter Thelma Bailey and two grandchildren and a 
brother E. S. Kussmaul.  No arrangements have been made for the funeral this 
morning.
