Ionia Sentinel Standard, 1 Nov 1943

Mrs. Marie Lemmin, 82, died Sunday afternoon at 1 o’clock at the home of her
daughter, Mrs. William Lemmin, of Ronald, where she had made her home for the
past four months.  She suffered a fractured hip in a fall on October 23 and had
been in failing health for the past three months.

Born in Germany February 11, 1855, she came to Ionia 55 years ago with her
husband, August, and had lived on Hill street until the death of her daughter
Mrs. Mary Wendland, four months ago.  Her husband preceded her in death in 1922.

She was the oldest living member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran church.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. William Lemmin; three grandchildren and four
great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at St. John’s Evangelical
Lutheran church at 2:30 o’clock, following prayer services at the home of her
daughter in Ronald township.  Rev. R.A. Rook will officiate and burial will be
in the family lot in Highland Park cemetery.
