MRS. GEORGE LONG CALLED HOME

Splendid Mother Passes To Be With Son in Other World. Taught Love and Refinement 
to Children

Mrs. George Long, wife of a well-to-do farmer of Campbell township, died at her 
home last Friday of rheumatism of the heart.

Mrs. Long was one of the faithful pioneers of the township and reared her family 
of four daughters and one son in love and culture. She lost her only son fifteen 
years ago.

She was a faithful Christian and performed her duties in the home and for her 
family with gentleness and loyalty and every remembered the neighbor how needed 
help.

The community has lost a faithful friend and the family a loving mother.

-OBITUARY-
Mary Jane Rosenberger, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Christian Rosenberger, was born 
Sept. 29, 1860, at Roseville, Ontario, and passed away Friday, March 30, 1923, 
aged 62 years, 6 months and 1 day.

They came to Michigan in her early years and settled in Campbell township, near 
Clarksville, where her girlhood days were spent. She was married to Geo. M. 
Long, Oct. 9, 1880. To this union were born five children, four daughters and 
one son; Etta, Vesta and Minnie who are married and reside in Grand Rapids. 
Olive who resides near the home and Clyde, who died 15 years ago at the age of 
20 years.

Thirty-one years ago in March they moved onto their farm in Campbell township 
which they have improved and built into a comfortable home.

Her Bible and her home were her great comforts. She was naturally of cheerful, 
unselfish disposition, always charitable in her thoughts towards others and 
anxious about the welfare of her family. She was highly respected by all who 
knew her.

Although having been afflicted for the past fey months, her passing was sudden 
and a severe shock to her family and the community.

She was baptized in her early life and always retained that faith in her Lord. 
She and her husband were baptized October 29, 1922 and received into the First 
Brethren church.

Besides her grief-stricken family she leaves two sisters and three brothers and 
a host of friends to mourn her departure.

Funeral services were conducted from the home Saturday, afternoon April 1, by 
Rev. Homer Anderson, assisted by Rev. I.H. Mourer. Interment was made in 
Clarksville cemetery.

We wish to thank the many friends and neighbors who so kindly assisted us during 
the illness and death of our beloved wife and mother and those who sent the 
beautiful flowers.
