Ionia Sentinel Standard, 2 Dec 1974

Ralph Longwell, 56, of 319 ½ West Main, Ionia, died unexpectedly Saturday at
Osteopathic hospital in Grand Rapids.  Born August 6, 1918, the son of Jessie
and Ella Colwell Longwell, he was employed at General Tire Company of Ionia
since 1951 and was a member of the local union 420.

Among his survivors are four sons, Ralph, Jr., Jim Longwell, Gary and Steve
Longwell, all of Saranac; three daughters, Barb Zeeryp of Grand Rapids, Cheryl
Longwell and Brenda Longwell of Saranac; seven grandchildren; sister, Mrs. Faye
VanDyke of Lansing.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at Morris-Roetman funeral home at
Saranac.  Rev. Edwin Mendenhall will officiate and interment will be at the
Balcom cemetery.  Family members will be at the funeral home Monday from 2 to 4
p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
