Ionia Sentinel-Standard - Mon. Oct. 30, 1995

IONIA- Esther C. Lower, 89, of Ionia died Thursday, Oct. 26, 1995 at the Ionia 
Manor.

She was born Oct. 11, 1906 in Ionia, the daughter of Otto and Martha (Miller) 
Grams. She married James D. Lower on June 12, 1926 at St. Johns Lutheran Church 
in Ionia, of which she was a lifetime.

She is survived by so Raymond Lower, of Ionia; sisters; Clara Purdy and Edna 
Culp, both of Lansing; grandchildren: Matthew, Lisa and Denise; six great-
grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. 

Her husband, James D. Lower, preceded her in death in February 1975.

A memorial service will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at St. Johns Lutheran church 
in Ionia with Rev. Joseph Fremer officiating. Donations to the St. Johns 
Lutheran School would be preferred to flowers.

Arrangements have been made by the Lake Funeral Home in Saranac.
