Ionia Sentinel - May 9, 1967
George Lukas, Sr., 85, died on Sunday morning at his home on Sidney Road, 
Crystal.  He was born April 22, 1882 in Czechoslovakia and came to United 
States in 1905.  In Milwaukee, April 16, 1916 he was married to his wife, 
Julia.  A farmer, he lived near Ovid 17 years prior to moving to Crystal in 
1963.  His wife, Julia, survives him, also three sons, George, Jr., and Edward 
of Owosso and Frank of Taylor; two daughters, Mrs. Anna Griswold of Ionia, Mrs. 
Helen Smith of Owosso; 17 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; two sisters, 
Helen Lukas and Mrs. Mary Cerniky, both of Chicago.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 9 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 
Carson City with Rev. Fr. C. J. Zawacki officiating and burial in Crystal 
cemetery.  Rosary was said Monday at 8 pm at Huyck - Schnepp funeral home in 
Crystal.
