Luscher, 49?, of R-1, Portland, became Ionia County’s 13th highway fatality of the year early last Thursday morning when the pickup truck he was driving struck a tree on Clarksville road near his home. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at Neller Funeral Home, the Rev. Robert Treat officiating, and burial was in Sebewa cemetery. Surviving are the wife, Joyce; two daughters, Laurel Lee and Judith L., and a son William W., all at home; his mother, Mrs. Gertrude Luscher of Portland; a sister, Mrs. Stewart Morton of Alma and a brother, Gerald of Portland. The deceased was a maintenance man for Angell Construction Co. and was enroute home from work when the accident occurred. The accident was discovered at about 2:15 a.m. Bearers were Myron Guy, Henry Kenyon, Edward Kenyon, George York, Joseph Cassel, and Richard Fender.
