Thursday, Jan. 19, 1922 Jim. McCanny Sets His Last Line of Type Former Printer Here and Later Nationally Known Wanderer is Dead. James McCanny, formerly employed in the print shops of both the Sentinel and Standard, is dead. Word was received here today that he died suddenly in Detroit, the same as his father, a former machinist at the car shops, dropped dead. Death occurred yesterday and the body will be brought here tomorrow for burial. Jimmy McCanny left Ionia several years ago. He married and then, together with his wife, tramped over a considerable portion of this country. They attracted national attention because of articles about their travels, which were printed in metropolitan newspapers. The body will be placed in a receiving vault at Mt. Olivet cemetery tomorrow. Rev. Fr. H. D. McCarthy will officiate. Additional Comments: Age: 43 Funeral: January 1922 Mt.
