The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Tuesday, August 17, 1926
Mrs. Agnes K. McCarty, 60, a resident of Woodland, Cal., passed away early 
Tuesday morning at the home of her son, Lewis McCarty, in South Ionia.  Mrs. 
McCarty came from the West a month ago to spent the summer and had planned to 
be in Ionia during the fair.  She had been ill only a few days, gall trouble 
being the cause of her death.  Monday afternoon a Grand Rapids specialist was 
called but death occurred early this morning.  She was accompanied from the 
West by a niece, Miss Helen Allen.

Mrs. McCarty had been a resident of Woodland 12 years and this was her third 
trip to Michigan during that time.  She is survived by two sons, Lewis McCarty 
of Ionia, and Charles McCarty of Sacramento, and two brothers, William Allen 
of Aberdeen, S.D. and John Allen of El Reno, Oklahoma.

Funeral arrangements will not be made until word is received from the son in 
California.
