Harold J. McCord, 89, of Ionia passed away July 13, 2014.  He was born January 
11, 1925 in Ionia the son of Joseph Paul and Marion (Dunning) McCord.  Harold 
married Penny Shores December 21, 1946. 

He was a Sergeant serving in the Army during WWII.  Harold worked for 
Electrolux in Greenville as an Operations Manager until retiring in 1987.  He 
loved to farm and was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Lowell. 

He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years Penny McCord of Ionia. Son, Gary 
McCord of Ionia; grandchildren, Barbara (Dave) Bowers of Holland, Saddy McCord 
and John Paul McCord both of Ionia.  He was preceded in death by his parents, 
sons Jack and Jim McCord and brothers, Morris and Fred McCord. 

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Good Shepherd Lutheran 
Church in Lowell with Pastor Joe Fremer officiating.  Interment Easton Cemetery 
at 2 p.m. Visitation will be at the Lake Funeral Home in Saranac Thursday 4-7 
p.m.  Those wishing may make memorial contributions to the Alzheimer’s 
Association.
