McCrumb, 98, of Portland, loving aunt passed away on Oct. 19, 1009. She was born on April 18, 1911 in Eagle Township, the daughter of Emmett and Sadie (Lehman) McCrumb. Miss McCrumb was a devout Christian who taught at Eagle School for many years before moving on to the Portland Public Schools when the schools consolidated to teach with her sisters, Helen McCrumb Smith and Agnes Lietzke. She retired from Portland Public Schools in 1973. She lived her entire life on the family farm. She was a very independent person who loved working outdoors. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Catherine Clark, Agnes Lietzke, and Helen McCrumb Smith; brother, Lester McCrumb; nephew Robert Clark. Surviving are two nieces, Margaret (Donald) Sheffer of Muskegon and Deloris Walker of Bradenton, Fla.; several great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. The funeral service was held Oct. 23 at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, Portland with interment following at Portland Cemetery.
