McQueen, 51, of Fenwick, entered the grace of God Friday morning, Dec. 29, 2006, at home. Shannon was born on Dec. 14, 1955, in Belding, the daughter of Milton and Lurlin Doty Ward. Shannon was the pivotal point of her family, around which love and caring revolved. She always put others first and herself last. She was the “Magic Mommy” who could fix any trouble or problem. Shannon was the true meaning of mother and grandmother and enjoyed playing video games with her kids. She will be forever missed by her family and friends. Shannon was preceded in death by a daughter, Erin McQueen, and her grandson, Leo McQueen, in 2000. She was married on Aug. 19, 1972, to Thomas McQueen and he survives along with their children, Steve McQueen, Laurie McQueen, both of Greenville; her mother, Lurlin Lawrence; and a brother and sister-in-law, Mick and Nancy Stearns, all of Fenwick. Funeral services are 1 p.m. today at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding, with Pastor Ken Harger officiating. Interment will follow in Clear Lake Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Shiloh Community Church.
