Born June 30, 1944, in Midland,MI, son of Leon "Lee" and Leota Fay (Wendt) McRoberts, both preceded him in death. Charles attended Midland High School & relocated to Belding where he met the love of his life, Susan Horsley. Charlie & Susan Horsley, married December 17, 1966 & shared nearly 60 years of marriage. They relocated to Wyoming where Charlie worked the oil rigs for awhile before moving back to Michigan where Charles worked in manufacturing for many years & later as a tree trimmer before retiring. Charles enjoyed tinkering in his garage workshop, especially vintage cars, His favorite the '57 Chevy. He was a collector of antique furniture & interesting license plates. He loved to play checkers & card games of all types, & taught his grandkids & great-grandkids. His grandkids referred to him as "Papa" & his nieces called him "Superman". Survived by his wife, Susan; his daughter, Lee Ann McRoberts of Belding; grandchildren, Tara Mulder, Derek Gillson, Kari J.Gillson, Sara McRoberts and Michael Palethorpe; & great-grandchildren, Karlea, Kadin, Dyllen, Tayler, Carsyn, Gracelyn, Oaklen, Logan, Cameron, and Justin; a brother, Thomas Randall, several brothers & sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins & friends. Preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Lori Horsley & siblings, Marjorie Rathbun, Barnard "Barney" McRoberts, Jean VonEitzen, Willa Short, Francis McRoberts, Alvin McRoberts, Lee "Jr" McRoberts, Doris Millwood, Douglas McRoberts, James McRoberts, Charles McRoberts, and Christine Empie. A private burial will take place at Otisco Township Cemetery near Belding. Those who wish may consider donation in Charlies' memory to the cancer-or heart- related charity of your choice.
