The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Wednesday, January 9, 1991

Helen Meerifield, 69, died Tuesday in Lansing.  She was born August 30, 1921 
in Lansing, the daughter of William and Emily Milke Ekert.

She is survived by three sons; William Clark, of Portland, John Clark, of 
Grand Ledge, and Lawrence Clark, of Lansing; three daughters, Sandra Smith, of 
Wilmar, Ark., Judith Peacock, of Mulliken, and Penny Hyland, of Portland; 12 
grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jennie Metz, of 
Lansing and Emma Aldridge, of Harrison; two step-sons, and seven step-
daughters.  She was preceded in death by her first husband Garnet Clark and 
her second husband Leo Meerifield.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Neller Funeral Home in Portland, 
with the Rev. Edward W. Filter officiating.  Burial will be in Glendale 
Cemetery, Okemos.  The family will be at the funeral home from 7-9 p.m. 
Wednesday and from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday.
