The many friends of Harry D. Minier will learn with regret the passing of this 
life long resident of Belding from this life on Sunday morning, February 17, at 
about 10 o’clock, at Alma, where he had gone to get the tools which he used in 
his trade as a sign painter and interior decorator.

A man named Patterson, who is the proprietor of the “Rexall” drug store at 
Alma, sent a telegram to the relatives here to the effect that Mr. Minier had 
dropped dead while in the store Sunday morning, his death being due to heart 
failure.  It appears that his physician had warned him some time ago that he 
should exercise every care, because of a serious heart affliction.  This was 
primarily due to a recent attack of Bright’s disease.

A curious coincidence attaches itself to the death of Mr. Minier because of the 
fact that, just before leaving here Saturday for Alma, to get his tools, which 
he had left there upon completion of a contract which he had been working on 
shortly before Christmas, he had told his mother, Mrs. Hiram Miner, that she 
should not look for him before Monday morning, but that he would surely arrive 
here on the 10:18 train on Monday, and it was on this train that his body was 
returned to this city.

Mr. Minier was fifty-five years of age and he leaves behind him his father and 
mother, Mr. and Mrs. Hiram Minier, and his wife, to mourn their loss.  The 
funeral was held from the house at 2 o’clock Wednesday afternoon, February 26.  
Rev. H. S. Ellis preached the funeral sermon and burial was made temporarily in 
the mausoleum at River Ridge cemetery and permanent burial will finally be made 
in the cemetery at Palo as soon as road conditions will permit.
