Funeral services will be Tuesday at Boynton funeral home for Fred J. Monger, 
85, who died Saturday evening at Valley Rest home in Muir following a lengthy 
illness.

He had been a carpenter in Ionia area all of his life, and had resided at 834 
West Washington street.

Son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Monger, he was born in Easton township, June 27, 
1879.  His wife, Katherine, to whom he was married in 1901 died May 4, 1930.

Surviving are a son, Roger Monger of Ionia and one granddaughter, Rosalind. One 
son, Dale, died in 1933.

Officiating at services will be Rev. Lester Bailey of First Methodist church 
and burial will be at Palo Cemetery.
