Mrs. Monks knew he had gone into the basement for that purpose, and after a cessation of all sounds from the cellar she went down and found his dying. He was a native of Keene township. Sixty-one years ago July Fourth he was united in marriage to Eliza Youngs, who with four children, James and Guy Monks, of Lowell: Mrs. Allie McQueen, of California, and Mrs. Lena Keller, of Saranac, and one sister, Mrs. A. Hawley, of Belding, survive. Funeral arrangements are awaiting some word from Mrs. McQueen. Mr. Monks was an old lumberman and log runner, and considered an expert in his day. For a time he conducted a meat market.
