Morgan, 95, of 310 West Riverside drive, died Wednesday evening at Ionia Manor where he had been a patient four weeks. Born in Kalamazoo, February 8, 1878, he was the son of Harvey and Helen Crandel Morgan and lived all his early life in the Kalamazoo area. In 1899 he was married to Pearl Presley. October 17, 1927, he was married to Harriett Estep and she preceded him in death March 4, 1970. He was employed by Stafford Furniture company and worked as a pattern maker at Hayes Ionia plant. He was an expert cabinet maker and after his retirement from Hayes he operated his own shop until 12 years ago. He had lived at his present residence 57 years. He was a life member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, member of the United Encampment of Odd Fellows and past state officer of the Patriarch Militant of Odd Fellows. Surviving are two sons, Elton of Lansing and Milton of Portland; three daughters, Mrs. Helen Ketchum of Ionia, Mrs. Dorothy Mead of Mulliken and Mrs. Maxine Kenyon of Charlotte; stepson, George Estep of Portland, and stepdaughter, Josephine Estep of Ionia; 15 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Leddick funeral home. Rev. Arthur R. Salisburg of Charlotte Church of Nazarene will officiate and interment will be at Easton cemetery.
