The Belding News, Wednesday, November 14, 1917

The death of Mrs. Electa Moulton took place at her late home in E. Congress 
street, Monday morning at three o’clock, following an illness which had 
confined her to her bed for eleven weeks and which was caused by cancer of the 
stomach.

Mrs. Moulton was a pioneer resident of this place, having came here with her 
husband and family in the year 1872.  Their first place of residence was in 
the house now occupied by E. C. Lloyd and family.  Mrs. Moulton has watched 
the city develop from its primitive state to what it is today and although the 
weight of her 81 years would make her passing from this life imminent at most 
any time, she leaves many warm friends who will mourn her death even at this 
ripe old age.

Mrs. Moulton was born in Pennsylvania, on July 2, 1836 and on December 28, 
1858 she was united in marriage, at Plymouth, to Enoch S. Moulton.  Born to 
this union and surviving are three sons: Elmer, of this city; George, of Ionia 
and Eugene, of Fenton.  Also two daughters, Mrs. Emma Lamb and Mrs. Clara 
Moulton, who were at home with their mother.

The funeral was held this afternoon from the house at 1:30 o’clock Rev. A. J. 
Blair officiating and interment was in Riverridge cemetery.
