Paul Allen Nanninga, 60, of Saranac passed away April 13, 2011. He was born May 
29, 1950 in Grand Rapids the son of Fred and Alice (Bos) Nannninga.

Paul married Susan Olthof Nov. 17, 1973 in Ferrysburg. He was a veteran of the 
Navy serving in Vietnam. Paul was a member of the Saranac American Legion and 
was a member of the VFW. He worked as a corrections officer for 26 years before 
retiring in 2000. Paul loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, cars, sports and 
traveling. He was especially proud of his family.

Paul is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Sue Nanninga of Saranac; 
mother Alice Nanninga of Lowell; children Jill (Joe) DeBoer of Saranac, Matt 
(Cassie) Nanninga of Lowell, and Betsy Nanninga of California; sister Sandy 
(Tom) Vanlaan of Dutton; five grandchildren, Zach and Kaiden DeBoer, Kayleigh, 
Ethan and Evan Nanninga; father and mother-in-law, John and marge Olthof of 
Grand haven; several nieces and nephews; and his best friend, Tiger the dog.

He was preceded in death by his father, Fred and one brother, Larry.

Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m. Monday at the Impact Church in Lowell 
with Pastor Jason Holdridge officiating. Interment South Boston Cemetery. 
Visitation will be 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Lake funeral Home in Saranac and 
one hour prior to the service at the church.
