Ionia Sentinel Standard, 30 Sep 2015

Joan Elizabeth Nixon, 90, of Ionia passed away Sept. 27, 2015.  She was born July 5,
1925, in Mimico, Canada, the daughter of Wesley and Georgina (Brooks) Brett.  Joan
was a graduate of Hazel Park High school and later from Alma College.  She married
Rev. Robert Nixon Aug. 28, 1948.

She is survived by her sons David Nixon of Madison Heights and Peter Nixon of
Southgate; cousin Eleanore Webster of Toronto; sister-in-law Irene (Leon) Sredzinski
(Nixon) and their children.  Joan was preceded in death by her husband Robert in
2014 and one sister, Ruth.

Memorial Services will be held Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2015, at 11 a.m. at the First
Presbyterian Church in Ionia with Pastor Bruce Mulder officiating.  Visitation will
be at the Church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.  Those
wishing may make memorial contributions to First Presbyterian Church in Ionia.
