The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Monday, January 19, 1953

Bert E. North, 80, of Easton township died at Aberdeen, S.D. Saturday, January 
17, at 8:30 a.m. where he had been spending the past four winters with his 
daughter, Mrs. Edward A. Rudolph.

The body and the family arrived in Grand Rapids Sunday evening.  The family is 
staying at a local Hotel.  They will be at the Boynton funeral home Tuesday 
from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. to receive their friends.

Services will be conducted by the Rev. Court O. Adams Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. 
at the Boynton funeral home.  Interment will be in the family lot, Easton 
cemetery.

He was born in Easton township September 6, 1872, on the farm which he still 
owned at his death and where he and his family lived during the summers.  The 
farm was originally taken up from the government by his grandfather, John 
North.  He lived his entire life in Easton township.  He was married November 
28, 1899 to Gertrude Terry of Big Rapids.

He was a former member of the Elks and a member of the Easton Methodist church.

Surviving are the wife, a daughter, Mrs. Rudolph, and four grandchildren.
