The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Tuesday, July 27, 1937
James Patterson died suddenly at his home in Ionia township at 6:45 o’clock 
Monday evening at the age of 69 years.  He was born in Indiana, but has lived 
in this section of Michigan all his life since coming here with his parents, 
Mr. and Mrs. Robert M. Patterson, when he was still a youngster.  He had 
worked all his life as a farm laborer, and was never married.  

Survivors are two brothers, Elmer M. of Lansing and Robert C., who has not 
been heard from in several years; and one sister, Mrs. Catherine Stevens, who 
lives on East Main Street, Ionia but is now staying at Muskegon.  

Funeral services will be held from the Myers funeral home Friday afternoon at 
1:30 o’clock.  Burial will be in the family lot in Easton cemetery.
