MAX DUANE PINKNEY

Died Monday,August 10, 2026 age 91 of Ionia at McLaren Center,MI,Medical Center 
in Mt.Pleasant,MI.
Born June 27, 1035 in Gratiot County,MI, son o Gerald and Crystal (Sanders) 
Pinkney.
Married Joanne McMillan on November 28, 1959, at St. John the Baptist Catholic 
Church in Hubbardston, MI.
Max served his country in the U.S. Army from August 18, 1954, until his 
honorable discharge on August 4, 1956.
He worked for the State of Michigan, retiring in 1988, 
After retirement he developed, owned, and operated Pine Haven Estates in Pewamo 
for over 30 years. 
He was a faithful member ot the St.John the Baptist Catholic Church & active 
with the Knight of Columbus, Ionia Moose Lodge, the American Legion, Ionia 
Hunting and Fishing Lodge and a member of the TPA.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and attending car shows. 
He entertained may friends in his pole barn and at his cottage.
Survived by his wife, of 66 years, Joanne Pinkney; his children, Sue A.(Joe) 
Hengesbach, Karen (Bill) Brewer, Lisa (Dave) Silsbury; five grandchildren; his 
siblings Terry (Rebecca) Pinkney, Sharon Bennett, Sandra (Jerry) Green, Carol 
Fox; and many nieces, nephews, brothers & sisters-in-law & close friends.
Preceded in death by his parents Gerald & Crystal; sisters Ardis & Beverly; 
mother and father-in-law; brothers-in-law; and special friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 11 a.m. 
at St.John the Baptist Catholic Church in Hubbardston.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to an organization of your choice.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Care of Lux and Schnepp Funeral Home, 
Carson,City,MI.
