Lake Odessa—Cecil J. Preston, 91, retired farmer and carpenter, died at 10:30 
Friday morning at his home, 1410 North Fourth avenue, after a long illness.  
He was born January 31, 1872 in Campbell township, the son of William and Anna 
Lamos Preston, and lived his entire life in the Pleasant Valley area on a farm 
northwest of Lake Odessa until he retired 18 years ago.  He had lived in Lake 
Odessa 11 years, moving there from Hastings.  

Mr. Preston attended Lake Odessa Bible church.  On June 28, 1908, he was 
married at Leslie to Sarah Keller who survives.

Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Clyde Jackson of Lake Odessa, and 
Mrs. Arthur Allen of Nunica; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; 
and a brother, Arthur Preston of Parchment.

Funeral service will be at Pickens funeral chapel Sunday at 2:30 p.m.  The 
Rev. James Blouw of Lake Odessa Bible church will officiate and interment will 
be at Clarksville cemetery.  Bearers will be Elwin Slater, Claud Scott, Floyd 
Neeb, Burdette Livingston, Lawrence Wait and Duane Gray.
