Ranger, 72, of Lyons passed away Jan. 19, 2001 in Carson City. He was born Aug. 12, 1928 in Lyons, the son of Howard C. and Margaret (Peckins) Ranger. He went on to marry Ann Burns Feb. 15, 1955 in Boston. He is member of Lyons V.F.W. and Cooties. He retired after 20 years with the U.S. Navy and 25 years with the Ionia Reformatory. He is survived by his wife Ann Ranger of Lyons; sons, Daniel Ranger of New York and Howard B. Ranger of Colorado; daughters, Mary (Chris) White of Muir, Patricia (Charlie) Parker of New York, Kathleen (Brent) Cross of Colorado and Margaret Swift of Portland; brother, Francis (Betty Jo) Ranger of Missouri; sister, Betty (Richard) Walsh of Ohio; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two grandchildren and one brother. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday at Lake Funeral Home of the Hull Memorial Chapel in Muir with Father Charles Mason officiating. Visitation was 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Sunday and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Monday at the funeral home.
