Milo “Mike” Andrew Reed, of Saranac, left this earthly home to enter his 
heavenly home at 12:02 a.m. on July 14, 2006.

He was born in Saranac on August 23, 1921 to Warren and Elizabeth Reed. Mike 
graduated from Saranac High School in 1939, Davenport College in 1941, and the 
University of Grand Rapids in 1942. He was employed by Union Bank, Fisher 
Body, and Continental Motors until he enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1944. After 
his honorable discharge, Mike continued his education at Michigan State 
University where he studied psychology, Lansing Community College, Western 
Michigan University, and received a degree in Real Estate from the University 
of Michigan.

He worked as a real estate agent and farmer until 1973, when he sold his 
business, Reed Ranch Realty, and became a stockbroker before retiring in 1985. 
Mike had enjoyed his years as a member of the Ionia County Sheriff's Posse.

He had been a member of the Clarksville Bible Church for over 50 years, and 
was grateful that three of the young boys he had taught in Sunday School 
entered the ministry. Preceding Mike in death were his parents; brothers, 
Versil Reed and Clayo Reed; son, James Andrew Reed; daughter, Joan E. 
Livingston; and granddaughter, Julaine Colette Reed.

Mourning his loss are wife, Bonietta Jean Reed whom he married in 1942; son, 
Milo Jackson Reed; daughters, Bonny Joy (Dan) Ayres, Jan Elizabeth (Phil) 
Thelen, and Jari Lee (Buddy) Collins; 15 grandchildren; 16 great 
grandchildren; sister-in-law, Pauline Reed; and many other loved friends and 
relatives.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, July 16, 2006 at the Koops 
Funeral Chapel in Clarksville. The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on 
Monday, July 17 at the Clarksville Bible Church. Burial will be in Clarksville 
Cemetery. The family has suggested that memorial contributions may be made to 
the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans.
