Lake O. Wave, Thurs. June 5, 1969

Roland F. Reid, 35, of Nashville was electrocuted last Monday morning while 
laying underground cable near Dutton. Employed by the Ostrum Bros. Construction 
of Lansing about two months, they were laying cable for the Consumers Power Co. 
According to official reports, Mrs. Reid was leaning against the motor crane 
when it came in contact with a high tension wire. He had been employed by E.W. 
Bliss company in Hastings for nine years and had worked a short time for White 
Products of Middleville and Fisher Body in Lansing before taking the job with 
the construction company.

The son of Clyde and Florence Reid of Nashville, he married Vanola Reed, 
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Reed of Eaton Hwy. and saw service with the Army 
in Germany.

Surviving are his wife; four children; his parents; two sisters and six 
brothers.

Funeral services were held Thursday at the Vogt Funeral Home with burial in the 
Lakeview cemetery at Nashville.
