Mrs. Hannah Rice Died Today at Age of 86

Husband Critically Ill, with Little Hope for His Recovery.

Mrs. Hannah Rice, who has been a resident of Ionia township for more than 60 
years, passed away at her home near Nickel Plate this morning at an early 
hour.  Her husband, Alanzo Rice, is very critically ill and there is little 
hopes held out for his recovery.

Mrs. Rice was at the time of death 86 years of age.  She was born in the state 
of Ohio, but came to Michigan about 1863.

Besides her husband, Mrs. Rice is survived by two grandchildren.  Funeral will 
be held from the residence Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock, city time, with 
interment in Highland Park cemetery.  Rev. M. H. Garrard will officiate.
