She had been in failing health for five years and had an asthmatic condition and a heart ailment which caused her death. Lucy May Franks was born March 12, 1868 at Niles and following her marriage to J. Spencer Rich, lived in Greenville and vicinity. For 30 years she had lived in this city. She was a former member of the Methodist church and was devoted to her home and family. Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Florence Armstrong of Tecumseh, Mrs. Maude Antcliff and Mrs. Retta Snyder of this city, Mrs. Winifred Monschsin of Grand Rapids, and Mrs. Berdella Jensen of Greenville; four sons, Ray of Denver, Colo., Clarence of Greenville, and Lawrence and Nelson of this city; 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Sunday at 2 o’clock at Ellis funeral Home with Rev. H. S. Ellis officiating and burial was in Green’s cemetery. Pallbearers were her grandsons, Earl and Stanley Antcliff, Richard Cisler and Spender, Larry and Bobby Rich.
