She was born April 20, 1891, in Cato township, Montcalm county, the daughter of Anna May Edey and Truman A. Greenfield. On January 23, 1913 she was married to Lester C. Richards at Belding and they made their home on State street in Ionia for 23 years before moving to Crystal about a year ago. She had been a member of the Methodist church for 43 years and was secretary and treasurer of the Howard Circle Sunday school class of the Methodist church in Ionia for 13 years. Surviving besides her husband, Lester, are two daughters, Mrs. Anna May Alden of Kalamazoo, and Mrs. Dorothy McCracken of Carson City; one son, Cpl. William C. Richards of Fort Hood, Texas, three step-daughters, Mrs. Lena Peabody of Alma, Mrs. Kate Whitney of Lansing, and Mrs. Lillie May Hansen of Lakeview; one step-son, Leo Richards, of Sparta; and ten grandchildren. The body reposes at Myers funeral home and funeral arrangements are incomplete pending the arrival of her son from Texas.
