Roberts, 71, Fenwick Road, Greenville, passed away early Saturday morning, April 26, 1997, at his home. He was born April 29, 1925, in Ionia, the son of Floyd and Gladys Richards Roberts. Mr. Roberts was a welder and machinist with Dolher-Jarvis and also owned and operated Roberts Excavating Service. He was a veteran of World War II, a member of the Ray I. Booth American Legion Post 101 and attended Beth Haven Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Stuart Dale Roberts; three brothers, Richard Roberts, Ronald Roberts, Floyd Roberts; and one sister, Norma Brown. On Oct. 19, 1951, at Greenville, he married the former Alice Bucholtz. She survives along with one daughter and son-in-law, Eunice and Bruce Shinabarger of Perrinton; two sons and daughters-in-law, George A. Roberts of Greenville, Paul and Pamela Roberts of Gowen, Karen Roberts of Fenwick; four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Donna Jean and William Thiedman of Belding, Marie Bode, Marilyn and John Webster, all of Pensacola, Fla., Patricia and Gerald Bissell of Orleans; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Kenneth Roberts of Belding, Phillip and Wanda Roberts of Orleans; one brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law, Howard and Germaine Bucholtz of Greenville, Mary Roberts of Port Richey, Fla.; 11 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Brown-Teman Funeral Home, Greenville, with Pastors Kevin Crowell and Howard Bucholtz II officiating.
