Ionia Daily Standard, 8 Apr 1891

Last Saturday morning the people of Lyons were shocked upon receiving the news 
that Mrs. A. K. Roof, who had been in Detroit the past two weeks under medical 
treatment, had died from the effects of a surgical operation.  Mr. Roof arrived 
home Monday with the remains and was met at the depot by a large number of 
sympathizing friends.  The funeral services will be held on Wednesday at the 
Baptist church.  Rev. W. T. Woodhouse, of Corunna, who officiated at their 
wedding, only two years ago, will be called to conduct the services.  Mrs. Roof 
had many friends in this vicinity, who will regret her untimely death.
