Mrs. Julia Ross, aged about 90 years, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. 
Dora Ely, in Alma Saturday evening, Sept. 22.  Mrs. Ross had resided on a farm 
two miles north-east of Muir for many years and since the death of her husband, 
Jay Ross, some years ago, had made her home with her children.  She is survived 
by three sons, Jay Ross of Alma; Chas. Ross of St. Johns; and Emerson Ross of 
Muir, and one daughter, Mrs. Dora Ely, of Alma, besides several grandchildren 
and many friends.  The remains were brought from Alma Monday and taken to the 
home of Emerson Ross from where the funeral was held in the afternoon.  Rev. 
Marshall, pastor of the Ionia Presbyterian church officiated.  Burial was on 
North Plains.
