                    Ionia Boy Dies While In Service
Pfc. Thomas J. Ross, Jr., 20, a member of the U.S. Marine Corps, died at the 
Veteran's hospital in Dearborn Sunday night, Aug. 23. He had been a patient 
there for several months.

The son of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Ross of 464 King street, he enlisted in the Marines 
February 21, 1952, and received his basic training at San Diego. He was 
stationed on Military police duty at Point Mugu, Calif., for a time. Pfc. Ross 
was taken ill while in California.

Surviving him are his wife, the former Bonnie Minaker; his parents; two 
sisters, Ms. Robert McLeod and Mrs. John Hague of Ionia; two brothers, Robert 
and Howard at home; and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Jensen.

The body will rest at the Myers funeral home awaiting funeral arrangements.
