Mr. Russell had been afflicted with his illness for the past two years. He was a native of Otisco township and had resided near this city all of his life until several years ago when he took up his residence in Greenville. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Russell, for many years prominent farmers in this part of the county and himself for some years well-to-do. Adversity came on and he lost practically everything and following the death of his wife, the former Clara Taylor, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Taylor, about two years ago, he was taken to Traverse City hospital for treatment. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Lola Hul; a son, Frank, and one grandchild, all of Greenville. Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon at the Brown Funeral Home in Greenville and burial was in Otisco cemetery, west of the city and close to the old home where he had spent the greater part of his life.
