Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard - Mon. Oct. 31, 1966

Mrs. Latonia Sawtell, 71, died Saturday morning at her home in Smyrna Beach, 
Fla.

Born March 2, 1895 in Ashley, she married Carl Shunk who died in 1935. 
September 27, 1944 she married Joseph Sawtell and they lived in Ionia until 
1960 when they moved to Smyrna Beach, Fla.

Surviving are her husband, Joseph, a son, Charles Shunk of Lyons and two 
daughters, Mrs. William Cooper of Muir and Elizabeth Blumbey, Ionia; two step-
sons, Joseph Sawtell, Jr. of Ionia and Arthur Sawtell, of Lyons' two step-
daughters, Mrs. George Mileski, of Jackson and Mrs. Ray Zigler of Ionia; 22 
grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Earl Young, 
Chesaning.

The body arrived in Detroit Sunday afternoon and funeral services will be held 
at Myers funeral home Wednesday at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Muir cemetery.
