Harold was born January 28, 1920, on the family farm in Keene Township, the son of George and Lena Breuer Scheid. He was a lifelong member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Miriam, the Holy Name Society and Right to Life of Ionia County. He was married September 27, 1949 at St. Mary Catholic Church, to Jean Jonas. He was preceded by his parents; two sisters-in-law, Alma Scheid, Delores Scheid; and two brothers-in-law, Dick Caverley, John Glumstad. He is survived by his wife, Jean; their children, Becky and Phil Heintzelman of Belding, Robert and Kolleen Scheid of Lowell, Suzanne and Gary Christensen, Roger and Jodi Scheid, Dave and Renee Scheid, all of Belding; 15 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and brother and sisters and their spouses, Dick Scheid of Belding, Doris Glumstad of Battle Creek, Paul and Rosie Scheid, Howard and Margaret Scheid, all of Belding, Thelma Caverley of Greenville, Jack and Marianne Scheid of Belding. Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary Catholic Church with Father CK presiding. Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation is from 3:30 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday with rosary prayed at 8:30 p.m. at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Mary Church or Visiting nurse Hospice.
