The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Monday, March 15, 1982

Mrs. Viola B. Scherer, 73, Ft. 1, Colony Rd., Pewamo, died Saturday evening at 
Lansing Sparrow Hospital after a long illness.  She was born March 18, 1908 in 
Detroit the daughter of Frank and Louise Kalsow.  She married Paul Scherer in 
Detroit on March 19, 1932.  

She was employed in Food Services at Michigan State University where she 
retired in 1970 and moved to her Pewamo residence.

She is survived by her husband Paul, and two sisters, Mrs. Frieda Bailey of 
Crystal and Miss Evelyn Kelsow of Lansing.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 on Wednesday at the Hull funeral Home in 
Muir, the Rev. Paul Carmichael of the Lyon Baptist church officiating.  Burial 
will be at East Plains cemetery.  A memorial has been established for the 
Cancer Society, for which contributions can be left at the Hull Funeral Home.
