The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Saturday, March 20, 2004
Leonard Schwab, 75, of Ionia, passed away March 17, 2004 in Ft. Meyers, 
Florida.  He was born June 7, 1928 in Clarksville the son of Charles and Rose 
Schwab.

He was a graduate of Ionia High School in 1946. He was voted all conference in 
football his senior year. Leonard entered the Army in 1946 and was stationed 
in Germany. He married Vione Hayes December 21, 1964. After his discharge he 
purchased the Townsend Farm and was in the dairy business there for 50 years. 
He served twenty years on 4-H Board, ten years on school board and several 
years on Board of Review.

He is survived by his loving wife, Vione Schwab of Ionia; sons, Jim and Karen 
Schwab of California; Gerald Schwab of Florida; Don and Jan Schwab of Florida, 
Michael and Darla Schwab of Florida, Dan Schwab of Ionia; daughter, Judy and 
Bud Hansbarger of Saranac; brothers, Harold and Amy Schwab of Muir, Sam and 
Pat Schwab of Florida; sisters, Esther Coates of Ionia, Margaret Olinski of 
Spring Lake; nine grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren and many aunts, 
uncles, and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, 
Evelyn Beatty; two sons, Charles and Tom.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, at the Ionia Church of the 
Nazarene with Rev. Kirk Starkweather officiating. Interment Sunset Memorial 
Gardens.  The family will receive friends and relatives Monday 2 to 4 p.m. and 
7 to 8:30 p.m. at Lake Funeral Home in Ionia. Anyone wishing may make a 
memorial contribution to Ionia Church of Nazarene Missions Program.
