LORETTA LYNN SHIREY

Died July 1, 2026-age 70 of Hubbardston, MI. at Henry Ford Hospital, Rochester.
Loretta grew up on a farm, where she learned the value of hard work.
Graduated from Carson City High School in 1974.
She was strong willed, competitive, & never afraid to stand up for what she 
believed.
She & Russell Shirley shared more than 42 years together.
Euchre was her favorite card game, watching movies about animals & paranormal 
stories.
Survived by her daughters, Genessa (Terry) Doolittle & Andres (Bill) 
Draper: grandchildren, Carter Doolittle, Aaron Doolittle, Ryan Draper, & Rachel 
Draper; sister-in-law, Kate Crippen & nieces & nephews.
Preceded in death by her husband, Russell; her parents Gerald & Harriet 
(Holbrook) Schafer; & brothers Steve & Rob Schafer.
For those wishing to honor Loretta's love of animals, memorial donations may be 
made to the Ionia County Animal Shelter.
A Celebration of Loretta's life will be planned for a later date.
