Daily Sentinel – Wednesday, 19 September 1906
The funeral service for Thomas E. Smith was attended yesterday afternoon from 
the family residence, North Jackson Street, Rev. E. E. Branch officiating.  
Many friends were present and in his remarks Mr. Branch spoke of the honorable 
character and goodness of the deceased who was just past 78 years of age and a 
longtime resident.  The pall bearers were E. E. Gates, A. Broad, L. A. 
Cornell, and S. Cooepr.  Interment in the family lot of Oak Hill Cemetery.
