Sprout, 66, of 525 East Grand River, Portland, and veteran of World War I, died Monday night at the Veterans hospital in Ann Arbor. The son of Frank Sprout and May Churchill Sprout, he was born July 7, 1894, in the home now known as Neller funeral home which was originally built by his mother’s parents. Mr. Sprout was a lifelong resident of Portland and had been employed as a meat cutter. He is survived by his wife, Bertha, and one brother, Max Sprout of Saranac. Service will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Friday at Neller funeral home in Portland with burial at Portland cemetery.
