The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Tuesday, June 27, 1961
Mrs. Iva M. Staley, 74, of Staley road, Lyons, passed away about 3 p.m. at the 
Ionia County Memorial hospital where she had been since May 23.  Mrs. Staley 
was born March 30 at Howard City, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Green.  
She came to Lyons at the age of 12 and attended the Lyons school.  She was 
married on June 23, 1909 to George W. Staley of Lyons and their entire married 
life has been spent on their farm home a mile south of Lyons except for 
several winters spent in Florida where they have a home at St. Petersburg.

Mrs. Staley was a past worthy matron and life member of Evergreen chapter, 
Order of the Eastern Star and a charter member of Ionic shrine, Order of the 
White Shrine of Jerusalem of Ionia.

Survivors include the husband, George, one daughter, Helen Staley, a nurse at 
Woman’s hospital, Detroit; a brother, Otis E. Green who is now in a 
convalescent home at Plymouth and a sister, Mrs. Roy Early of Detroit.

Funeral will be at 2 o’clock Thursday afternoon at Lyons Methodist church.  
Burial will be at Lyons cemetery.  The family will be at Estep funeral home in 
Muir form 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday.  Bearers will be Howard Ranger, 
Francis Peckins, Perry O’Neil, Richard O’Neil, Jack Spotts and Alfred Faxon.
