Ionia Daily Sentinel, July 30, 1891
Rebecca A. Çook was born in 1839, married D. A. Swain in 1863, and the couple 
moved to Palo, Michigan, in 1867 where they have since lived. She fell asleep 
in Jesus July 26, 1891. Sister Swain was converted in the winter of 1864 and 
united with the M. E. church. She was a faithful member until her death; an 
active worker in church and Sunday school until compelled by sickness to 
retire. She has been an invalid for over seven years. There were two sons, 
Wilbur H., who died at the age of two years, and Charles T., who remains with 
the father and husband to mourn the loss of one whom they loved; but their 
loss is her gain.
