Excerpts from Greenville Obituary

HELEN TAIT

Died Saturday, August 22, 2026-age 99 of Hubbardston, at U.of M. Health-Sparrow 
Hospital, Lansing,MI.
BornMay 8, 1927 in Hubbardston, daughter of John & Louise (Rockey) Riley.
Married Virgil Tait at St.John the Baptist Catholic Church on June 4, 1947.
Helen loved a celebration and often be seen on the dance floor.
Helen took pride in her Irish heritage.
She enjoyed summers at Higgin's Lake, traveling, and closely following politics 
and current events.
Survived by her children, Sharon Tait, Robert Tait, Susan (Dan)Findlay and Kathy 
Olsen; 11 grandchildren, Megan Ryan, Kyle, Aaron. Nellie, Maddelyn, Garett, Jim, 
Jennie, Stephanie, and Greg; 9 great-grandchildren, her sister, Rita Snyder and 
many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Tait, her parents and her siblings, 
Betty Geller, John"Jack" Riley, Joe Riley, Patricia Schafer, Leonard Riley, 
Loraine Barker, Gene Riley and Jeanette Burns.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, September 1, 2026. at 11 
a.m. at St.John the Baptist Catholic Church in Hubbardston.
Interment will follow at St.John The Baptist Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Monday, August 31,2026 from 3-7 p.m. at Lux and Schnepp 
Funeral Home in Carson City,MI, with a Rosary and prayer service beginning at 5 
p.m. and Tuesday from 10 a.m. until time of the Mass at the Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St.John the Baptist 
Catholic Church.
