Sept. 27, 1900 James Taylor, of Eureka, an old resident of this section, and one most highly respected and esteemed, died quite suddenly last Saturday while sitting at the dinner table. It was most unexpected as he seemed in usual health and in the morning had been cutting corn. He was born in New York, was 76 years of age and was head sawyer in the first lumber mill built in Greenville. He leaves a wife, one son and one daughter, John E. Taylor and Mrs. Helen M. Beardslee. Funeral services were conducted at the farm home Wednesday forenoon by Rev. Wm. Judd, assisted by Rev. D. E. Hills.
