Sentinel-Standard - Saturday, Sept. 25, 1993

IONIA- Florence VanDeVelde Tjalsma, 91, of Ionia, died on Friday at her home. 
She was born March 31, 1902, in Belgium and came to the United States as a 
young girl, later settling in Ionia.

She married Bert Tjalsma on December 22, 1921, in Ionia. He survives.

She had worked at A.C. Sparkplug, when she was younger.

She is survived by one son, Dewey of Ionia; two grandchildren, Debra Imsand of 
Atlanta, Ga. and Kurt Tjalsma of Ionia, and five great grandchildren. She was 
preceded in death by six brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Cook Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Tuttle Cemetery.

The family will be at the Rich Street Chapel on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m.

A memorial has been established for the donor's choice, in care of the funeral 
home.
