Excerpts from Portland Obituary

MELVIN WILLIAM TRESCOTT

Died June 20, 2026-age 76.
Born August 28, 1949 in Cass City, MI to William & Lovina Trescott.
Graduated of Belding High School with class of 1967.
Mel worked for the State of Michigan until his retirement in October of 2002.
He loved the outdoors, riding motorcycles, snowmobiles & boating in the Great 
Lakes.
Mel's great-grandfather, Loren Trescott had been the Historical Harbor Beach 
Lighthouse Keeper. Mel donated several of his great-grandfather's items & 
photographs to LightHouse.
Mel was preceded in death by his parents & his sister, Penny Matoon.
Survived by his sister, Millie (Herb) Seidelman & his half sister, Kathy 
(Edward) Ferguson;Nieces & Nephews, Denise (Dan) Adkinson, Janel (Todd) Badder, 
Jill Seidelman, Herb Seidelman, Penny Lynn Boucher, Forest Elwell, Chelsea 
Hutson & Mondo Trescott.
A private family memorial service will take place at a later date in Harbor 
Beach,MI.
