He was born February 11, 1881 and spent his entire lifetime on the farm originally homesteaded by his father. He was united in marriage to Mabel Jordan on February 27, 1906. Surviving him are: his wife, Mabel; two sons, Leo of Howell, Kenneth of Clarksville; two daughters, Mrs. Boneita Atkins of Marlette, and Mrs. Jean Harker of Saranac; and eight grandchildren; four brothers, John, Samuel E., George, and Newell; one sister Mrs. Lucinda Courter. His lifetime was spent in love and service to his family and community. He will be missed by the Community Church and Grange of South Boston, Clarksville F. & A.M., and other farm organizations in which he was active. Funeral services were held at the Clarksville Bible Church, at two o’clock, Sunday, November 7. The Rev. Paul Boger and Mr. Richard Bolt of the South Boston Community Church officiated. Pallbearers were Paul Wittenbach, Claude Harker, Gottlieb Roth, Harvey McClure, Fred Fahrni and Harold Alderink. Burial was in the South Boston cemetery with the Clarksville Order of F. & A.M. in charge.
